Pakistani pop singer Ali Zafar has made history with the creation of Pakistan’s first AI-generated music video, which has garnered widespread praise on social media. The video features the song “Rang Rasiya,” performed by Nirmala Maghani, a talented young singer from Umerkot, Tharparkar, who has overcome significant challenges to pursue her passion for music in her native language.
The innovative video showcases the beauty of the desert while blending modern elements. It features an AI-generated Sindhi bride diving into deep water and then exploring the desert, symbolizing the pursuit of dreams, alongside a modern man living outside the confines of the dunes.
In the caption of the video, Ali Zafar shared his inspiration for the project. He revealed that he was introduced to Nirmala through a WhatsApp demo sent by Pakistani socialite Mian Yousuf Salahuddin. Zafar was captivated by Nirmala’s voice and composition skills, as well as her resilience in pursuing music despite the challenges of living in a remote desert region where music, especially for girls, is often taboo.

Zafar explained, “A couple of years ago, I was introduced to @nirmalamaghaniofficial through a song demo on WhatsApp by @yousaf_salahuddin. Her beautiful voice and the story of her determination inspired me deeply. Despite the harsh conditions and lack of basic amenities in her region, Nirmala’s passion motivated me to support her with recording, production, and a music video.”
He continued, “For the video, I wanted to create something unique. Recalling my college days when I explored digital art for my thesis, I decided to use AI to bring a new dimension to the project. Creating this AI-generated music video involved meticulous attention to detail and countless revisions, but the result was worth the effort. I’m thrilled to share Nirmala’s talent with the world. Special thanks to @omegashahrukh for image generation assistance and @aleeboyondabeat for music production, with composition and lyrics by Nirmala herself.”
