Five Pakistani players have secured places in the semifinals of the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship following a series of commanding victories in their respective quarterfinal matches, reinforcing Pakistan’s strong presence in the tournament.
In the Boys Under-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz delivered a dominant performance against Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen, advancing to the next round with straight-game scores of 11-4, 11-4, and 11-6.
Pakistan also made notable progress in the Boys Under-15 division, where top-seeded Nauman Khan overcame India’s Harshal Rana with a convincing 11-6, 11-5, 11-7 win. His compatriot, Ahmed Rayan Khalil, followed suit by outclassing Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff 11-7, 11-3, 11-3.
In the Boys Under-13 category, top seed Sohail Adnan comfortably defeated India’s Abhyuday Arora 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 to secure his place in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, in the Girls Under-13 event, Mahnoor Ali registered an emphatic victory over India’s Anika Kalanki with a scoreline of 11-6, 11-2, 11-3. However, in the Girls Under-15 bracket, Sehrish Ali was eliminated after a one-sided loss to Malaysia’s Siti Syaurah A Sufian, who prevailed 11-4, 11-7, 11-2.
