KARACHI: Ayesha Ishaq, a PhD student at Dr Panjwani center for Molecular Medicine & Drug has won two international awards at International Society for Stem Cell Research America.
Karachi’s university spokeswoman for the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences said on Thursday that Ayesha Ishaq won this awards in the ISSCR’s international hybrid conference after presenting her research online at a poster session in San Francisco.
The relevant research is related to the treatment of stroke and other diseases using the stem cells extracted from the bone marrow of mice.
According to the spokesperson, 2200 people from all over the world participated in this global conference while 1000 people partook online.
Prof. Dr. Nasira Khatun, Vice chancellor of Karachi, and former federal minister and Patron of the Higher International Center Prof. Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman also congratulated the talented student on her achievement.
Dr Iqbal Chaudhry, head of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, Karachi University, congratulated Ayesha Ishaq on her achievement, saying it was a recognition of the potential of Pakistani youth.
