ATHENS: Greece’s security officials have disclosed the identity of a 65-year-old Pakistani man, Mohammad Mohsen Reza, who is alleged to have planned an attack on a Chabad Jewish site in Athens with the aid of two accomplices.
A security official revealed that Mohammad Mohsen Reza, a 65-year-old Pakistani man, has been working for the Revolutionary Guards for several years. Reza resides in Qom, Iran, and is reportedly utilizing his worldwide connections to expand the Revolutionary Guards’ terror network by recruiting young people from Pakistan.
Last week, Greek security services arrested two undocumented immigrants, Hussein Abid and Irtaza Haider, from the Sargodha District of Pakistan for plotting to attack Athens with the goal of targeting Israelis and Jews in Greece. The suspects, recruited by Iran’s security and intelligence agencies, were allegedly in the final stages of planning the assault and planned to enlist others.
It has also been reported that these operatives are part of an extensive network created by Iran to execute terrorist operations outside its borders. Allegedly, the Revolutionary Guards control agents who have connections with both criminal and security organizations. These agents are responsible for identifying, enlisting, and guiding foreign fighters who share religious and ideological motives to perform terrorist activities on behalf of Iran, often in other countries.
