A Pakistani national convicted of heroin smuggling in Riyadh was put to death by Saudi authorities. The arrest of Gul for the attempted transportation of drugs was confirmed by the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
Local reports indicate that Gul was sentenced to death by the Saudi judiciary, a decision upheld by both the appellate and supreme courts.
The execution was carried out today in Riyadh, highlighting the kingdom’s firm stance on drug trafficking.
In April, Saudi authorities apprehended two other Pakistani nationals linked to a major drug trafficking operation, according to Saudi Gazette. The Riyadh Region Police’s Criminal Investigation and Search Department arrested the suspects, who were allegedly using a residential unit to distribute 13,000 narcotic tablets.
