Pakistan clinched one gold and two bronze medals in the 2024 Asian Jujitsu Championship.
Pakistan’s five-member team secured one gold and two bronze medals in the Asian Jujitsu Championship held in Abu Dhabi. In the Under-18 Do Classic event, Muhammad Yusuf Ali and Umar Yasin secured the gold medal for Pakistan by defeating Kazakhstan in the final. Additionally, Isra Wasim and Kainat Arif secured two bronze medals for Pakistan in the senior women’s category of Do Show and Do Classic, respectively.
Chairman of the Pakistan Jujitsu Federation, Khalil Ahmad Khan, congratulated the athletes for their success. The Director-General of the Pakistan Sports Board also extended congratulations to the young players of the Pakistani team for their outstanding performance and medal wins.
Pakistan participated in the tournament with the smallest team due to a lack of funds and support, whereas other countries such as Kazakhstan fielded 250 players, Uzbekistan 130 players, and even the Indian team comprised 73 players. More than 1500 athletes from 30 countries participated in the event in Abu Dhabi.
