KARACHI: Another 23 people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths has reached 7,000.
According to the data released by the National Command and Operations Center, 1,637 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country and the total number of affected people has reached 346,476.
In Pakistan, 319,431 patients of coronavirus have recovered and 20,045 are undergoing treatment. The number of coronavirus patients in Sindh is 150,834 and in Punjab, it is 1,07,329. 40,843 cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,110 in Islamabad, 16,152 in Balochistan, 4,830 in Azad Kashmir, and 4,378 in Gilgit.
The coronavirus has killed 2,420 people in Punjab and 2,687 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,290, Islamabad 244, Balochistan 154, Gilgit-Baltistan 93, and Azad Kashmir 112.
The National Command and Operations Center has made it mandatory to wear a mask to prevent coronavirus in Pakistan. Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks will be required for those working in government and private sector offices.

Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants. According to the NCOC, coronavirus is spreading in 11 cities across the country. Eighty percent of coronavirus cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.
