LAHORE: Pakistan has witnessed a spike in coronavirus cases as the country registered 1,637 cases during the last 24 hours, taking the national tally to 27,474.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), 24 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 619. As many as 7,756 patients have recovered from the disease.
Moreover, a total of 153 people are said to be critical as the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
A total of 9,691 cases were reported in Sindh, 10,471 in Punjab, 4,327 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,876 in Balochistan, 609 in Islamabad, 421 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 79 in Azad Kashmir.

Pakistan will begin easing its lockdown nationwide from today. The country, despite its close proximity to China, where the coronavirus first emerged, remained COVID-19 free until 26th February when a young man from Karachi tested positive after returning from Iran.
As per details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted.
