ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported nine deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,540,952. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,413 on Thursday.
According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH), at least 872 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has conducted 23,125 tests in the past 24 hours out of which 872 persons were tested positive for the disease. The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 3.77 percent.

On the other hand, the NCOC has directed to hold prayer gatherings in open spaces instead of mosques on Eid-ul-Azha.
According to details, the National Command and Operations Center has issued guidelines for Eid-ul-Azha across the country. The new NCOC guidelines state that it is important to take precautions to prevent coronavirus. Therefore, after one gathering of Eid prayers, two or three gatherings should be held in the same mosque to reduce the rush.
