ISLAMABAD: A further 42 people have died of coronavirus in Pakistan while 2,843 new cases have been reported.
Coronavirus attacks in Pakistan have intensified again and the number of people affected in the last 130 days is the highest today.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, the total number of people infected with coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 371,508 while 7,603 deaths have been reported.
Across the country, 1,389 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and a total of 328,931 have been cured so far.
The number of corona cases in Islamabad is 26,177, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 43,730, in Sindh 161,028, in Punjab 113,457, in Balochistan 16,699, in Azad Kashmir 5,911 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,506 people have been infected with the coronavirus.

The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 2,826 people have lost their lives. 2,799 people have lost their lives in Sindh, 1,323 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 270 in Islamabad, 93 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 158 in Balochistan, and 134 in Azad Kashmir.
The second wave of coronavirus has started in Pakistan. To deal with the second wave, SOPs will have to be strictly adhered to.
According to the NCOC, the coronavirus epidemic is spreading rapidly in 15 cities across the country. Eighty percent of coronavirus cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.
Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants.
Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks must be worn by those working in government and private sector offices.
