ISLAMABAD: Cases of coronavirus continue to rise sharply in the country, with the outbreak of measles affecting 1,345 more people, one infected citizen lost his life.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center on Saturday morning, 1,345 people have been infected with the coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours while only one death has occurred.
With the addition of a new death toll, the total number of deaths has now risen to 28,962 while the total number of victims has now risen to 1302486 after adding 1,345 new cases.
Around 46,537 tests were conducted across Pakistan while the proportion of positive cases also increased to 2.89 percent.
During the last 24 hours, 246 patients recovered from the virus while the total number of recoveries was 1258332. The total number of active cases in the country was recorded at 15,192.
So far 485782 people in Sindh, 447082 in Punjab, 181673 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 109167 in Islamabad, 33,657 in Balochistan, 34,696 in Azad Kashmir, and 10,429 people in Gilgit-Baltistan have been confirmed with coronavirus.
Besides, 13,077 people have lost their lives in Punjab, 7,678 in Sindh, 5,941 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 967 in Islamabad, 747 in Azad Kashmir, 366 in Balochistan, and 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
