KARACHI: A further 28 deaths and 1,286 new cases have been reported in Pakistan due to the coronavirus.
According to the National Command and Control Center, the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 11,914 while the total number of affected people has reached 553,128.
In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,198 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,908 patients are still in critical condition. The total count of active cases is 32,514 and the positivity rate stands at 3.85 percent.
A total of 33,319 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 508,700 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,155,766 samples have been tested thus far.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 4,854 people lost their lives while 4,066 people died in Sindh, 1,948 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 478 in Islamabad, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 196 in Balochistan, and 270 in Azad Kashmir have lost their lives.

The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 41,819, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 68,180, in Sindh 250,043, in Punjab 160,162, in Balochistan 18,849, in Azad Kashmir 9,160 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,915 people have been affected by the virus.
