ISLAMABAD: At least five more people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus, taking the death toll to 6,659.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 433 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 323,452. In Pakistan, 9,384 patients of coronavirus are undergoing treatment, and 37,409 have recovered.
The coronavirus has killed 2,298 people in Punjab and 2,581 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,265, 195 in Islamabad, 148 in Balochistan, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 82 in Azad Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has reached 18,069. 101,652 cases have been reported in Punjab, 141,841 in Sindh, 38,645 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,688 in Balochistan, 4,059 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 3,498 in Azad Kashmir.

There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for coronavirus patients in hospitals is 1,920. There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.
Last month, World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had praised Pakistan’s response to the coronavirus, saying the country managed to fight the pandemic while allowing its economy to pick up as the country stabilises.
