Pakistan reports 753 new coronavirus cases

ISLAMABAD: The total number of deaths due to coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 6,129 and 285,920 cases have been reported.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, there have been 753 new cases of coronavirus. At least 10 deaths have been reported in 24 hours across the country. The number of active cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 16,475.

In Sindh, 124,556 cases were reported from coronavirus. 94,715 in Punjab, 34,859 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,956 in Balochistan, 15,296 in Islamabad, 2,157  in Azad Kashmir and 23,082 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,177 in Punjab, 2,290 in Sindh, 1,235 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 172 in Islamabad, 138 in Balochistan, 59 in Azad Kashmir and 58 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the NCOC, 20,631 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours and so far 2,186,442 tests have been taken. The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan was reported on 26th February.

The number of coronavirus cases is rapidly declining in Pakistan, however, the NCOC has issued a warning for the re-emergence of coronavirus in Muharram.

On the other hand, the Microsoft founder-turned-philanthropist Bill Gates has also acknowledged Pakistan’s flattened COVID-19 curve. He said that coronavirus cases have witnessed a massive decline in Pakistan in recent days.
