ISLAMABAD: Around 693 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country, with no deaths reported due to the virus in the last 24 hours, but the condition of 165 patients is critical.
According to figures released by the National Institutes of Health, a total of 1,541,645 people were infected with coronavirus and 30,413 died of the virus across the country. The mortality rate remains at 2 percent.

On the last day, 21,137 tests were done to diagnose coronavirus while the percentage of positive cases was 3.28 percent. The total number of tests was 291,440,730 while 165 patients with coronavirus are in intensive care.

Earlier this week, the total number of coronavirus cases across the country increased, after which the federal government decided to activate the National Institutes of Health. SOPs were also implemented across the country to prevent coronavirus.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had expressed concern over the rising number of cases of coronavirus and issued instructions to revive Pakistan’s Coronavirus Response Forum.
