ISLAMABAD: At least 706 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while nine more civilians have died of the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,271,028 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 28,414 people lost their lives to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 49,486 tests were performed to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 26,059,000. Across the country, the coronavirus test result was 1.42 percent while the number of critical cases was 1,408.
Earlier, Asad Umar, head of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), stressed the need to meet vaccination targets, saying that the lack of coronavirus vaccine would reduce the number of cases but we would remain weak.
Seven days ago today, Asad Umar said that the second dose of vaccine is very important for protection against coronavirus. The best progress report of vaccination has come out in Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit, and Mirpur.
