ISLAMABAD: At least 18 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus in Pakistan and the total number of deaths has risen to 6,318.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 441 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Pakistan and the number of active cases in the country has dropped to 8,813. The total number of coronavirus cases has reached 296,590.
During the last 24 hours, 20,480 tests were performed and a total of 2,662,508 tests have been performed so far. There are facilities for the patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for coronavirus patients in hospitals is 1,920. According to the National Command and Operations Center, 1,088 patients are currently hospitalized.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 129,469. At least 96,832 cases were reported in Punjab, 36,118 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,869 in Balochistan, 15,649 in Islamabad, 2,299 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 2,903 in Gilgit.
The coronavirus has caused 2,199 deaths in Punjab and 2,403 in Sindh. The death toll from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,250, Islamabad 175, Balochistan 141, Gilgit-Baltistan 67, and the coronavirus in Azad Kashmir 63.
There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities. According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly coming down but the threat is not over yet.
