PUTRAJAYA: Pakistan and Malaysia have collaboratively signed an Extradition Treaty at the PM Office in Putrajaya.
The treaty was signed by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Malaysia’s law minister. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad have also witnessed the ceremony.
At a joint press conference, Malaysian premier Mahathir said that the Treaty strengthened positive force in bilateral relations by enhancing security and transnational crime cooperation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan who was also present in the joint conference termed the extradition treaty an important milestone in cooperation with Malaysians in the law enforcement sector.
He mentioned that a wanted Pakistani criminal involved in a number of murders was arrested from Malaysia even before the signing of this agreement.
