The Pakistan Navy’s Air Defense Unit has successfully test-fired surface-to-air FN-6 missiles, as reported by the state-run news agency on Thursday.
Commander Coast Vice Admiral Raja Rabnawaz was the chief guest at the event, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.
During the live weapon firing, the Navy’s ground-based air defence system successfully hit aerial targets, demonstrating its precision and effectiveness. Vice Admiral Rabnawaz expressed his satisfaction with the operational readiness of the Ground-Based Air Defence (GBAD) system and praised the troops for their performance.
“The successful firing of these surface-to-air missiles reaffirms our combat readiness and our ability to respond effectively to any threat,” said Vice Admiral Rabnawaz. He added that the Pakistan Navy is fully prepared to defend the country’s maritime borders and ensure regional security.
The live demonstration of the GBAD system in Karachi highlighted the Navy’s advanced capabilities in air defense, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining vigilance and preparedness. The FN-6 surface-to-air missiles, known for their accuracy and reliability, were fired and successfully engaged their intended airborne targets.
