Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled an incentive package to enhance wheat production in all the provinces of Punjab.
According to the incentive package, free tractors and land levelers will be provided by the Punjab government to all wheat farmers for the purpose of augmenting their agricultural yield.
Under the scheme, approximately 1,000 land levelers will be provided to wheat-producing farmers whose land is between 12 and 25 acres. In addition to this, the management of cultivation over 25 acres of wheat will be provided with 1,000 green tractors.
These agricultural resources will be distributed to the farmers through lucky draw so that every eligible farmer gets equal opportunities to avail these resources.
Free tractors and land levelers can be availed of by farmers who are encouraged to access the government agriculture department’s website or follow updates on its Facebook page. Additional channels that can be visited by farmers directly include the offices of the Department of Agriculture for those specific requirements as far as the application process and eligibility criteria are concerned.
Besides machinery distribution, the government is offering support to farmers through Kissan Card so they can get seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides on an interest-free basis. It is a comprehensive package intending to overcome all financial burdens and enable farmers to acquire the tools required to be used for sustainable agriculture.
