ISLAMABAD: The joint Opposition on Friday submitted a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri.
The motion was filed by PML-N leader and former deputy speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi in the NA secretariat.
It has been stated in the motion that the Deputy Speaker on April 3 rejected a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, while his ruling in this regard was declared unconstitutional and illegal by the Supreme Court. “Suri intentionally violated the constitution,” it read.
“Suri set the worst example while running the House, violating the constitutional provisions and adopting a biased attitude in support of the government,” it added.
It may be recalled that earlier a no-confidence motion has also been filed against Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
