ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has shown a ‘threatening letter’ to his cabinet members on Wednesday as he faces a serious threat to his government.
The meeting of the federal cabinet was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. According to reports, the prime minister informed members about the content of the letter and said that a global conspiracy has been hatched against the government.
Briefing the cabinet members, he termed the opposition’s mover as a global conspiracy that he had resisted every difficult situation. He said that the letter stated that if the no-confidence motion failed, Pakistan would suffer consequences.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has also taken the heads of national security agencies into confidence over the letter. The letter showed immense displeasure over the prime minister’s recent visit to Russia earlier this month. The letter highlighted future ties and foreign policy threatening regime change in Pakistan.
The threatening letter received from Prime Minister Imran Khan after the cabinet members has also been shown to journalists and allies. However, the premier did not tell the journalists from where the letter had been written.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to share a letter carrying evidence of a foreign conspiracy to topple his government with senior journalists and members of the allied parties. He said the letter will reveal the elements who are conspiring against the country from abroad, and suspicions were cast that the government is doing all this to save itself.
