NEW DELHI: Opposition parties of India have demanded the resignation of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party from its power over the on-going New Delhi riots.
The opposition demanded an immediate resignation from Indian premier Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the Anti- Muslims riots in India.
The opposition parties in this regard staged a strong protest against the Delhi riots during a session in the parliament which led to the suspension of the two houses.
Opposition parties expressed regret over the loss of lives and property in the Delhi riots, saying that such violence had severely damaged India’s secular credibility and damaged the image of the country globally.
The number of people killed in the riots has increased to 46 while more than 350 injured are under treatment. Police have registered more than 250 FIRs in connection with the riots and have detained nearly 1,000 people.
