RAWALPINDI: At least three people, including one police officer, sustained injuries in an exchange of fire during a raid near Rawalpindi’s Cantt area today (Sunday).
According to details, the district police arrested a criminal in its jurisdiction, meanwhile, another assailant opened fire on the raid team in a bid to rescue his partner.
In the exchange of fire, both the criminals and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Zeeshan sustained injuries. Later, the district police arrested the assailants and shifted them to the hospital.
Earlier in September, a cop was killed in an armed attack by unidentified men near Brooks Chowrangi area of the metropolis.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities. The deceased police official, Arif Khan deployed in ‘Madadgar-15’ force.
