It would totally be not wrong if we say not most but few charitable giving isn’t focused enough on the poor but heinous crimes and the latest example of it is Sarim Burney who has been arrested by the FIA.
The founder of Sarim Burney Trust and one of the famous and well-known social welfare leaders were arrested by the FIA this morning on multiple charges.
Who is Sarim Burney?
He is a Pakistani entrepreneur and Chairman who runs his non-profit organization ‘Sarim Burney Welfare-Trust’ and performs the duties of this Trust chairperson. Since its establishment, Trust has helped many poor victims, children, women, and men. The Trust helps every Pakistani suffering from distress and needs help.
Why was he arrested?
The Federal Agency arrested him from Karachi Airport for human trafficking and other serious crimes. The report quoted FIA sources saying that Sarim was being watched for a long time. When he arrived at Karachi Airport from the US, he was arrested immediately arrested.
In what acts was he involved?
Human trafficking hides in the shadows as traffickers prey on the vulnerable and the voiceless and as per the FIA, Burney has been involved in such heinous crime.
As per international reports, more than 25 children were smuggled to the US from Pakistan under the radar of Burney.
Previous case
In the past, Sarim Burney could not be arrested related to human trafficking due to lack of evidence. The legal team of Burney reached outside the office where Burney is being investigated but is unable to meet him.
