ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza said that it was not advisable to evacuate Pakistanis from China.
Addressing a press conference in China, Dr. Zafar Mirza said that four Pakistani students in China, who are contracted with the disease were improving, adding that not a single person in Pakistan had contracted the virus.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that it would be against the interest of Pakistan and the region to evacuate Pakistanis from China and it would be the risk of contracting the coronavirus.
He said that Pakistan stands with China and would respect the directions of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Beijing.
He further said that the whole world is worried about the virus and WHO has advised all the countries to not evacuate their nationals from China.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that the problem was that not all Pakistanis are registered on the website of Pakistan’s embassy in China and urged the Pakistanis stranded in China to register themselves.
