Noor Jehan’s daughter condemn Ali Azmat for his derogatory remarks about her mother

Famed Pakistani singer Noor Jehan’s daughter has come forward slamming Ali Azmat for his derogatory remarks about her mother.

Malika-e- Taranum’s daughter Mina Hasan taking on her Instagram account, has condemned Ali Azmat’s remarks about her mother which he made during his interview, Mina said, “Madam Noor Jehan is a name synonymous with greatness. A woman that did more for her country and her art than most can dream of doing in a lifetime. She received every accolade known to mankind and while leaving us was also rewarded in death to depart for Heavenly abode on the most blessed of days.”

Adding to that she said, “I got thousands of you today sending messages of how much you love her & that you want me to say something about what someone had to say about her. To that, I share one of my favorite quotes “What you say about me, says more about you.” When someone expresses an opinion breaking boundaries of respect & decorum they show you that they lack common decency, grace & humility”.

While Talking about Ali Azmat’s statement made about Noor Jehan, Mina stated that, he lacks his quality of personality, she further asserted that, “Freedom of expression is qualified for a good reason. It should not be permitted to be used as means of indignation for another / others”.

Moreover, she expressed her thoughts about freedom of speech saying that, “I am allowed to express what I feel”. You most certainly are. But with every privilege exercised, there is a much greater need to observe propriety. Every privilege claimed is accompanied by an overwhelming need to observe caution. Let us take a moment to disagree with disgraceful utterances from an interview conducted with a now-faded representative of Pakistan’s music industry. Let us take a moment to recognize this person’s unregulated & greatly unjustified tenor & evident lack of intellectual coherence”. Furthermore, Mina Hasan stated that, Ali Azmat while explaining popular culture relevant to his generation stooped so low.

Earlier, Junoon Singer Ali Azmat faced a severe backlash over his statement which he made during his interview that, “In my childhood, Noor Jehan used to sing on a show draped in Saari with big earrings and over makeup on, We used to hate that woman, she was a Maai even at that time. Looked like a meatball, she was an old age woman at that time and we used to think that it is not necessary for us to watch it.” Meanwhile, Ali Azmat’s demeaning comments have created a stir on social media after his video went viral facing a serious backlash.
