ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that opposition’s no-trust motion against his government would not only doom, but would also pave way for their complete elimination in the upcoming 2023 general elections.

Addressing a conference of overseas Pakistanis, the prime minister expressed his gratitude to the opposition parties for bringing no confidence motion against him in the parliament as it had not only stirred all the ranks and files of his party across the country, but also helped the people to realize the inner self centered motives of ‘three stooges.’

“They have fallen to their own trap. I predict, they will not only fail in their no trust motion but also lose the 2023 elections,” he added. The prime minister sarcastically pointed out that opposition parties had made the people to forget prices of tomatoes and potatoes.

“Look at the faces of these three stooges, on one side, people saw Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif, and on the other side, Asif Zardari and Fazlur Rehman. Now all the people are heading towards Islamabad to attend PTI’s gathering,” he added.

Terming the no trust move ‘a special favour from Allah Almighty’, he said that he was fed up with the oppositions’s parties’ oft-repeated chorus over the fate of his government. He said his party had strengthened people are all geared up for the March 27 rally — which is expected to take place at D-Chowk just a day before the National Assembly votes on the no-trust motion.

The prime minister said now he was fully focused on these three thieves as they did not know the nation. “The nation knew it very well how Nawaz Sharif was pampered by former general Jillani, while Shahbaz Sharif delivered fruits baskets and Zardari assumed leadership of the party by selling tickets.”

The prime minister challenged the opposition parties to rival PTI in any sector with performance as they would miserably fail. He said the Opposition leaders were under the “false impression that the people had forgotten their corruption”, but they were wrong as they had fallen into the “captain’s trap”.

PM Imran Khan thanked overseas Pakistanis for supporting the country and sending a record remittance through which the state was running its economic affairs. “But when overseas Pakistanis, who are working hard abroad, see these corrupt politicians enjoying parties and living in palaces in foreign countries, they are hurt,” he lamented.

He said due to the corruption of the politicians, the country had become a “slave” to foreign powers. “When our then prime minister [Nawaz Sharif] met then US president Barack Obama, his legs were shaking as he was cautious against saying something his ‘master’ might feel bad about.”

PM Imran Khan said he was against America’s “War on Terror”, the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and the Hindutva mindset that prevailed in India. “But am I not anti-US, UK, and India. I pray that a sensible leadership comes into power in India so that we can hold talks with them”

The prime minister lamented that the Western nations had double standards as they do not allow people to become the judge, jury, and executioners in their homeland. He challenged the media, economists, and the Opposition parties to hold a debate with the government over its performance since coming into power.
