KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has illegally promoted nine employees of the Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad.
These employees have been given postings in violation of directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan while the seniority list has been completely negated, depriving senior workers of a promotion.
According to documents of the Sindh government, Anwar-ul-Haq was hired in Grade 3 in 2013 and was promoted to Grade-7 as a storekeeper in 2019, while Ahmed Shuja who was hired in Grade-1 as naib qasid was promoted Grade-11 in 2016 in violation of rules.
Similarly, Muhammad Irfan was hired as Grade-2 ward servant in 2009 and was promoted to Grade 11 as a junior clerk in 2017. Masroor Ahmed was also hired as a Grade-2 ward servant in 2009 and promoted Grade-12 as a computer operator in 2017.
Muhammad Kamal was hired as a Grade 4 dark room attendant in 2012 and has been promoted as data processing officer, while Muhammad Afzal who was hired as Grade 2 ward servant was promoted as Grade 9 ICG technician in 2012 while he also holds a fake diploma.
Tahir Ahmed Khan was hired a Grade 2 ward servant in 2009 and promoted to Grade 4 operation threatre attendant in 2017, while Jehanzaib Khan who was hired as Grade 2 ward servant was promoted to Grade 9 laboratory technician in 2016.
Zaman-uz-Islam who was hired as Grade 7 junior clerk in 1987 was first promoted as Grade 12 data processing officer in 2012 and again as Grade 14 account assistant in 2017. It may be noted that the Supreme Court has prevented the change of cadre of government employees under the criminal and regional petition no. 89/2011.
The Liquatabad hospital has become the hub of financial embezzlement, corrupt practices, loss of official records, illegal postings and lack of accountability of higher officials. This has strongly affected patients who visit the hospital for treatment.
