Netflix recently released Stephen King’s novel-based movie ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone’.
Those who do not know Stephen King are best known for his horror and suspense books. However, his novel-based movie was not horror, not a bit.
The film, starring IT’s Jaden Martell and Donald Sutherland, arrived on the online streaming service on October 5.
Plot
The film is a story of a young boy Craig from a small town who becomes friends with an older billionaire John Harrigan. They both later become very close to each other.
Craig once gifts Mr. Harrigan a cellphone and teaches him how to use it. When Mr. Harrigan dies, Craig puts his iPhone in his pocket before he’s buried.
However, things get disturbingly interesting one day when Craig sends a message to the smartphone and shares how he misses him and how he was bullied at school and receives a reply from Mr. Harrigan from the grave.

Is the movie horror?
If you have been haunted by films like ‘The Shining’0 or ‘Carrie’, you can attest to what powerful source material King’s stories are. Well as compared to that, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone was emotional with a good storyline but not horror.
