LONDON: PML-N Supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is said to be receiving treatment in London, recently asked imprisoned leader of the party, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, to seek his release from jail on parole.
Sources reported that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has asked Khaqan Abbasi to challenge corruption charges raised against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Wasting time and energy to face trial on the basis of political vendetta would serve no purpose, Sharif was quoted as saying that ex-PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who is in jail on judicial remand in the LNG case, had recently declined to file a petition for bail.
Earlier on January 21, An accountability court adjourned the judicial remand of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the LNG case till 4th February.
