LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that his Quaid Nawaz Sharif never sought NRO from anyone and that his daughter Maryam Nawaz got relief purely on the basis of merit.
Speaking to media after appearing in Central Court Lahore in a money laundering case, Shehbaz Sharif, immediately resorted to verbal attacks on former Prime Minister Imran Khan, calling him a liar and fraudster.
Referring to the most recent audio leak, he said he [Imran Khan] had set up an auction center in PM House where buying and selling [of MNAs] continued. He asked if there could ever be a bigger crime than buying of consciences of the people.
Shehbaz Sharif, who came to power by overthrowing Imran Khan’s regime with the help of a no-trust move, cited the recent audio and asked as to where Imran Khan arranged money from to buy those five MNAs, was it Farah Gogi or national exchequer?
