The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to introduce a new facial recognition system for pensioners and elderly citizens with weak fingerprints.
According to details, a consultative conference was held at NADRA, where discussions took place on the challenges faced in identity verification and the steps taken by NADRA to ensure seamless service delivery for regulators and citizens.
At the start of the conference, NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir offered a detailed briefing on the issues faced by various sectors under the identity verification system, the need for solutions, and innovation within the system.
The conference also focused on the difficulties encountered by citizens, particularly pensioners and elderly individuals with weak fingerprints, in the verification process.
As a result, NADRA officials decided to introduce the new facial recognition system for pensioners and elderly citizens with weak fingerprints, which will be launched on January 15.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has revised the fee structure for the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as the B-form, starting in December 2024. This move is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to simplify the registration process and ensure that every child in Pakistan is officially recognized from birth.
Under the new fee structure, the standard fee for obtaining a B-form remains at Rs 50. However, those opting for faster processing will be charged Rs 500 for expedited services.
To apply for the B-form, parents must provide a computerized birth certificate from the relevant Union Council. Additionally, at least one parent must present a valid National Identity Card (NIC) or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). If only one parent is present, a verification from a Gazetted Officer or a public representative (such as an MNA, MPA, or municipal official) is required.
For children aged 10 and above, a photograph and fingerprints are mandatory for registration. NADRA recommends registering children within the first three months of birth to ensure they are included promptly in the national database.
This updated fee structure aims to enhance accessibility and efficiency in the child registration process, benefiting families across Pakistan. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has updated the fee structure for the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) for the month of November 2023.
The Family Registration Certificate is a crucial document containing comprehensive information about an individual’s family composition, including details related to birth, marriage, or adoption, as registered with NADRA.
According to a recent announcement by NADRA, the fee for obtaining the Family Registration Certificate in both normal and executive categories is now set at Rs1,000. This revision is aimed at simplifying the application process and ensuring efficient service delivery to citizens seeking this essential document.
