RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal today in the Narowal Sports City corruption case.
Ahsan Iqbal will attend the NAB’s inquiry session at 11 pm in Rawalpindi and respond to the bureau’s questions about the case related to him.
He was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court and ordered him to submit an Rs10 million surety bond for bail earlier this week. He was recently on Wednesday released from Adiala Jail.
Last month, Ahsan Iqbal filed a bail petition in the IHC in the same corruption case.
He was arrested on 23rd December 2019 by the National Accountability Bureau. Since then, Iqbal has been seeking post-arrest bail.
Iqbal insisted that the funds allocated on the NSC were authorized by the Federal Cabinet, Parliament and the National Economic Council at that time. He said the plan for the project had been revised and expanded. He was also hospitalized last month due to his worsened condition.
