ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has sent a 26-point questionnaire to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to proceed with investigation into corruption cases.
The JUI-F chief has been directed to submit the response till December 24 along with providing evidence. The anti-corruption watchdog has warned of legal action if he fails to submit a response within the deadline.
NAB is investigating him for possession massive assets beyond his known means of income. He has been asked to details of his properties, inheritance from his father and other properties owned by his family members along with his annual income.
NAB has sought complete details his 64-kanal land in Dera Ismail Khan and two kanal and 15 marlas agriculture land bought in the name of his son. The sources of income for the purchase of five marlas land in Multan Cantt by his son have also been sought.
NAB has also asked him about his connection with several men being probed into corruption allegations, considered to be frontmen for the JUI-F. This includes Gul Asghar, Noor Asghar, Muhammad Jalal, Sher Bahadur, Yasir, Abrar Ali Shah, Sharifullah, Taka Khan, Haji Shehzada, Abrar Ahmed and Muhammad Ramzan
Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been directed to provide details of assets belonging to him and family members including his brothers, gifts, or land bought by him or anyone else. The details of the assets sold by him and family members were also sought, as well as the records of hotels, shops and houses that have been constructed on them
He has also been directed to disclose expenditures of the election campaign, foreign tours, bank accounts, tax information. He has also been asked to submit details of his madrassahs and ts bank accounts, registration records and income.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also been asked provide details of the government land allotted to him, his close aides and other workers of his party. He has been asked to provide records of all local and foreign bank accounts and list of donors of the JUI-F.
