ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a plea against the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision to grant bail to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz.
The NAB filed a plea in the Supreme Court against the LHC’s decision to grant Maryam Nawaz bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
In its petition, the bureau argued the LHC had not considered the case records in the correct manner. It added that due to the LHC’s decision, the prosecution’s case had also been affected.

The NAB appealed to the court to cancel Maryam Nawaz’s bail and declare the LHC’s order as null and void.
Maryam was granted bail on November in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. She was asked to submit her passport to the court along with two surety bonds of Rs100 million each.
She was arrested along with her cousin Yousuf Abbas in the same case by the Nab on 8th August 2019.
