The suspect in the Mustafa murder case, Armaghan, has been handed over to the police on a further 7-day physical remand.
During the hearing of the case in a local Karachi court, the defense lawyer opposed the request for physical remand, arguing that the vehicle, body, and weapon used in the crime had already been recovered, making further remand unnecessary. He requested that the suspect be sent on judicial remand instead.
Meanwhile, the prosecution lawyer stated that the suspect had placed passwords on all recovered items, making further investigation necessary. The investigating officer informed the court that the suspect had moved his call center from Karachi to Skardu and later called his father to join him there.
According to the police remand report, after committing the murder, Armaghan informed his father, who advised him to go into hiding. During the hearing, the judge asked the suspect if he had been subjected to any physical abuse by the police. In response, Armaghan said he was unable to move his head.
Additionally, as per the court’s order, the suspect was allowed a 5-minute meeting with his parents before being handed over to the police for another 7-day physical remand.
Earlier, Mustafa Aamir was abducted on January 6. A month later, on February 8, police raided a bungalow in Karachi’s Defence Khayaban-e-Momin area to recover him. During the raid, the police came under fire, resulting in injuries to three officers, including a DSP.
The police arrested Armaghan, who, during interrogation, revealed that he, along with Shiraz, had placed Mustafa in the trunk of his own car, taken him to Hub, and burned his body.
