KARACHI: Mufti Azam-e-Pakistan Mufti Muneeb-Ur-Rehman on Wednesday vehemently rejected accusations leveled against him by former Karachi Mayor and Pak Sarzmeen Party(PSP) head Mustafa Kamal.
“I have heard of the abuse and threats Mustafa Kamal has hurled at me but I am not going to lower myself to that level, I’m raised better,” Mufti Muneeb said, “I will leave my case to Allah but I will say these threats are now on records,” he added.
Talking about Kamal’s accusations of plots and undue favors, he termed them a pack of lies.
“He lives in Aziz Abad but I never did,” Mufti Muneeb claimed. “Kamal was born in 1971, while years before his birth I had lived in Federal B Area, now being called Dastagir Colony,” he added.
He said Kamal claimed he had come to me for a plot in Liyari Taiser town, which is a blatant lie.
Mufti Muneeb added, Liyari Expressway used to be under the authority of National Highway Authority, which came under federal ministry of communication. Mustfa Kamal never had anything to do with the said authority.
“I went to the project director of NHA to save Qadri Masjid PIB Colony from demolition as much as possible,” Mufti Muneeb claimed, “And in case of unavoidable demolition, I asked for a compensation for the mosque, to which the authority agreed and paid.”
Mufti Muneeb said neither had he gone to anyone for a plot, nor received any benefits.
“Kamal should present proofs if he has any,” Mufti Muneeb demanded, “I and former governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-Ul-Ibad have a relationship of mutual respect, though I have never obtained any favors from him,” he added.
He said according to former governor Ishrat-Ul-Ibad Mustafa Kamal owned businesses worth of billions in Malaysia
“Mustafa Kamal came to my Darul Uloom University Naeemia with his team asking for support in the 2018 elections. Alhamdullah! I had my 120-yard house in Gulshan Iqbal Block-4 A in 1982, which I sold and bought a 200-yard plot in Gulistan Johar in 1995 and built a house in 2002. I still live in the same house,” Mufti Muneeb said.
According to Mufti Muneeb Mustafa Kamal became the Mayor of Karachi in 2005, the land of My Mosque, Jamia Masjid Al-Aqsa and Darul Uloom Jamia Naeemia had legally been legally allotted respectively in 1963 and 1974.
“Mr. Anis Qaim Khani’s views contradict your claims and philosophy,” Mufti Muneeb said, “I treat both of you with respect, while you crossed all limits,” Mufti Muneeb concluded.
