Days before the country’s polling booths open for more than 128 million registered voters on February 8, the MQM-P has enlisted the services of Sky Wings, a private aviation academy, to enhance its election campaign.
The Civil Aviation Authority has approved the Sindh-based party’s request to use small aircraft for voter outreach in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Nawabshah.
Sky Wings, a flying training academy operating in Pakistan for three years, is set to conduct multiple leaflet-dropping flights over district south areas (excluding the red zone) on February 3 and 4, as stated in their request to the Nawabshah deputy commissioner on January 25. Party convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also signed an application sent to the Karachi commissioner.
The campaign is financially supported by Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah Taqvi, the MQM-P candidate from NA-207 and PS-37. Notably, Sky Wings previously announced plans to introduce Pakistan’s first air taxi service in May, having signed an agreement with a foreign investor. With approximately 29 airstrips across the country, eight of them fully operational, the private company aims to make a mark in aviation.
