KARACHI: MPA Sindh Assembly Jam Owais has been produced in the court for the hearing of Nazim Jokhio murder case while the investigating officer of the case has been changed.
According to details, other accused including Assembly member Jam Owais was produced before the court today in the Nazim Jokhio murder case. Police informed the court that the investigating officer of the case has been changed once again.
The new investigating officer requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused of 14 days. The court was told that the post-mortem report of slain Nazim Jokhio has not been received yet.
Malir Court was informed by Inspector Siraj Lashari that Mujtaba Bajwa, the old investigating officer of Nazim Jokhio murder case has been transferred and the responsibility of investigation has been handed over to me. The six accused are still in police custody.
Four named accused, including National Assembly member Jam Abdul Karim, has been granted pre-arrest bail in the Nazim Jokhio murder case. The victim was subjected to the worst torture in the Jam House warehouse.
The investigating officer of Nazim Jokhio murder case informed the court that DVR was not received from Punjab Forensic Lab. It should be noted that Nazim Jokhio was killed for prohibiting sword hunting and making videos.
It may be recalled that earlier Karachi police had intensified investigation into the murder case of Nazim Jokhio. Police recovered clothes and burnt the mobile phone of the slain Nazim Jokhio from a well near Jam House.
The items of slain Nazim Jokhio have recovered from the well four days ago in the presence of media representatives near Jam House. According to investigators, Nazim Jokhio’s clothes and mobile phone were thrown into a well after the murder.
