ISLAMABAD: Heavy fog continues today in various cities including the capital city. The motorway was closed to traffic from various places due to reduced visibility.
According to the details, Islamabad was enveloped by heavy fog. As the visibility becomes very low, everything starts to disappear. Flight operations at Islamabad Airport have been suspended due to fog, while the flow of traffic on the roads is also affected.
The spokesperson of the Motorway Police said that the traffic on Motorway M2 from Islamabad to Lahore was stopped. Motorway M1 from Peshawar to Burhan, while Motorway M14 from Daud Khel to York was closed due to reduced visibility.
Swat Express is closed for all types of traffic from Colonel Sher Khan to Ismailia while Spokesman Motorway Police Imran Ahmed said that the intensity and duration of fog has increased with the cold weather on national highways.
Motorway police say that road users should prefer to travel during the day time. Avoid unnecessary travel by using front and rear fog lights to avoid accidents.
