KARACHI: A mosque set up an example of inter-faith harmony by opening its doors for Shia prayers goers during the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) observed on Thursday.
The Masjid-e-Quba located on Numaish Chowrangi is operated by the Deoband sect. The mosque administration opened its doors for Shias participating in the procession and allowed them to offer their prayers.
Members of both sects also offered their afternoon prayers together. The gesture had been appreciated and is seen as a great example to ensure sectarian harmony and peace in the city.
Karachi has been an increase in sectarian tension as many banned outfits held massive anti-Shia rallies last month. In such an atmosphere, a great example has set up as both sects offered prayers together.
