Mohsin Dawar stopped from delivering speech at Bajaur Bar Council event

BAJAUR: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) supporters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have stopped Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader Mohsin Dawar from speaking at a Bajaur Bar Council event on Saturday.

On a social media website Twitter, the PTM leader said went to visit Bajaur Bar on the invitation of its newly elected office bearers.

He said establishments hired tools tried to disrupt the event. This is the same lot that is afraid of our narrative of peace”. “I am thankful to Bajaur Bar and the people of Bajaur for their hospitality,” he added.

Footage of the incident, showed the parliamentarian being forced by former JI MNA Haroon Rashid and his fellow party members from completing his address.

Chaotic scenes ensued as not only were bar council members attacked but chairs were also heaved at them. #Mohsindawar soon became the top trend on Twitter as the video spread like wildfire.

Dawar, who has repeatedly pointed the finger at the establishment for targeting his party and supporters, cried foul once again.

Earlier, Police had arrested Mohsin Dawar and 30 others as they were protesting against the detention of Manzoor Pashteen in Islamabad.

They showed their limits.

According to the police, Mohsin Dawar and other workers of PTM were shifted to Kohsar Police Station from outside the National Press Club in Islamabad.

A large number of PTM supporters attended the protest, including politicians Afrasiab Khattak and Bushra Gohar.

Protests against the arrest of Manzoor Pashteen were also held in various areas including Mir Ali, Tank, Zhob, and Miranshah. A protest was also held outside the Karachi Press Club.
