ISLAMABAD: The ruling Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has appointed Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning Dr Moeed Yousuf as the National Security Adviser on Tuesday.
A notification in this regard has also been issued by the cabinet division. According to details, Dr Moeed Yusuf’s rank will be equivalent to a federal minister.
Yusuf is an expert in international affairs, and was formerly the associate vice president of the Asia Centre at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC.
He has authored Brokering Peace in Nuclear Environments: US Crisis Management in South Asia and taught at Boston University, George Washington University and the Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.
