Minor girl raped in Rawalpindi, suspect arrested

KARACHI: A seven-year-old minor girl was sexually assaulted in Rawalpindi, while a medical report has confirmed the heinous incident.

The victim’s mother Bushra Bibi said her daughter Noor Fatima was sexually assaulted by Taufiq alias Koko Butt on 8th September.

The mother, who hails from Kot Mohan in Sargodha, is currently residing in Nai Abadi neighbourhood of Rawalpindi and works a domestic maid.

Narrating the incident, the woman said that when she returned home that day, her daughter was crying and told her she had gone out to buy snacks but the shop was closed. A man in the street offered her twenty rupees and then took her to upper floor and raped her.

The woman said her daughter’s medical test was conducted which proved that she was sexually abused. A case was also registered under Section 376 (Punishment for rape) of the penal code and the suspect has been arrested.

The suspect was presented before the court and four-day remand was granted. The victim’s mother has appealed for justice and to provide exemplary punishment for the perpetrator.
