ISLAMABAD: Police claimed solved a mysterious murder case of a minor girl found dead at the metro bus station in Islamabad after her father reportedly confessed to his role in the incident.
The incident was reported on November 8 when the body of a twelve-year-old girl was found dead inside the washroom of the Metro Bus Station in the G-11 area. The station is not operational as construction work is underway.
The police reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital. The body of the girl was handed over to her uncle, who hails from Azad Kashmir. Ramna police station registered a case and a team was later constituted to investigate the incident led by senior superintendent of police (SSP) investigation.
Police checked the record at all police stations if any missing case was reported and registered a case against two security guards of the metro station.
According to the recent findings, police said the girl’s father murdered his daughter and later dumped her body at the washroom of the metro station. Police had taken the father in custody on suspicion of his role.
During interrogation, the man reportedly confessed to his role and identified the site of the murder. Police officials said that the girl’s father was a drug addict. Police have not disclosed the motive behind the murder and are collecting further evidence to prove the suspect’s involvement in the murder in court.
After the body was recovered, a three-member medical board comprising three female doctors at PIMS Hospital conducted the post-mortem which revealed that the minor girl had been abused and died of suffocation while there were wounds and scratches on her body. The medical board had also decided to conduct forensic tests on the girl.
