Netflix has officially announced the release date for Millie Bobby Brown’s upcoming movie on its streaming platform.
The fantasy adventure film, “Damsel,” is now scheduled to premiere on March 8, 2024, after a delay from its initial release date of October 13. Netflix revealed the updated debut date on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a movie poster featuring a close-up of Millie Bobby Brown’s left eye and the caption: “Keep your eye on Millie Bobby Brown. Damsel premieres March 8.”
In “Damsel,” Brown takes on the role of Princess Elodie, starring alongside a cast that includes Nick Robinson from Jurassic World, Angela Bassett from Black Panther, and Ray Winstone from Black Widow.
The film’s official synopsis describes it as follows: “A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive.”
The first trailer for “Damsel” was released earlier this week, showcasing Brown in combat with the dragon, wielding a sword, and offering a glimpse of the movie’s stunning visuals.
In addition to the movie delay, Millie Bobby Brown’s other project, the fifth season of “Stranger Things,” faced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have now concluded. Filming is set to resume in January, and despite the extended gap between seasons, producer Shawn Levy clarified that artificial intelligence will not be used to make the cast appear younger. Speaking to Deadline, he emphasized confidence in the show’s direction, cast brilliance, and the vivid characters created by the Duffer Brothers.
