PESHAWAR: An earthquake of mild intensity hit several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Mardan on Sunday morning.
The earthquake was reported in Mardan and Takht Bhai and other adjoining areas where residents rushed out of their houses and buildings. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
On Saturday, a moderate earthquake struck Harnai district and adjoining areas of Balochistan. According to initial reports, no loss of life or property has been reported neither the intensity and epicentre of the quake was revealed. Panicked residents fled their houses and returned once the tremors remained calm.
The region was struck was a deadly earthquake on October 7 when at least 20 people were killed and more than 200 injured when an earthquake struck several towns of Balochistan cities. Many of the victims died when roofs and walls collapsed after the 5.9 magnitude quake struck the town of Harnai in Balochistan.
The quake affected Quetta, Sibi, Harnai, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Ziarat and Zhob in Balochistan. The magnitude of the quake was measured at 5.9 on the Richter Scale while the epicentre was located near Harnai at a depth of 15 km.
