Lahore: The metro bus, running from Shahdara to Gajjumata, met with an accident, resulting in 8 women getting injured.
The metro bus had an accident near the Jinnah Garden Station. It collided with broken iron rods alongside the metro bus track. The broken iron rods on the track were part of a protective fence. Upon colliding with the rods, the bus went out of control and crashed into the protective iron fence.
According to rescue authorities, eight women were injured in the accident and were transferred to Mayo Hospital for medical assistance.
It’s worth noting that in the past, Lahore has faced technical issues with mega transport projects. The engines of the metro buses have been a source of frequent technical problems, and most of the issues are related to technical faults. The complete squad of metro buses running from Shahdara to Gajjumata is not being operated.
Out of the 64 buses running on the metro track, 23 have technical problems and are damaged due to accidents. In the past year alone, there have been 28 incidents of buses breaking down.
