KARACHI: Director Meteorological Department, Sardar Sarfraz on Wednesday has said another low air pressure could form in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea next week, leading to a depression or hurricane.
Talking to media, Sardar Sarfraz said that the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal next week could turn into a depression or a hurricane by the
time it reaches eastern India.
“Hurricanes form in October and November, during which low air pressure can turn into depression, but the formation of low air pressure will clear its track and intensity,” he said.
Earlier the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had warned of torrential rains and urban flooding in the coastal towns of Sindh and several Balochistan’s districts.
Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.
However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Islamabad twenty-two degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-four, Karachi twenty-seven, Peshawar twenty-one, Quetta twelve, Murree fourteen, Muzaffarabad nineteen and Gilgit thirteen degree centigrade.
According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and wind-thundershower is expected in Srinnagar, Anantnag and Baramula while partly cloudy weather is expected in Leh, Pulwama and Shopian. However, partly cloudy and dry weather is expected in Jammu.
